Staff Profile for Joan Pardes - Communications Director
Joan Pardes is the Communications Director for SERRC - Alaska's Educational Resource Center.
After spending 15 years working in the entertainment industry as an agent and public relations professional, Joan is delighted to put her public relations, marketing, and fundraising skills to use as SERRC's Communication Director.
Prior to her current commitment with SERRC, Joan worked for the agency as a grant writer and event coordinator.
Besides working at SERRC, Joan is also a freelance writer who has an ongoing relationship with a variety of news organizations and magazines.
Improving student achievement in Alaska is SERRC’s top priority. Currently, SERRC offers more than 30 programs (many of which are free) that impact thousands of students every year.
