Leadership Team

 

Sheryl Weinberg - Executive Director

Sheryl has worked in public education since 1976 and has been employed by SERRC since 1993. Her 31-year career includes teaching in Arizona and Alaska, university teaching, and special education administration. Sheryl’s responsibilities include providing leadership and motivation for a highly expert staff; assuring financial responsibility; setting standards for program excellence and cost efficiency; and ensuring the oversight of short and long-term planning to support the agency’s mission.

 

 

Julie Staley - Associate Director

A native of Australia, Julie has worked at SERRC since 1992 and has extensive experience working with Alaskan schools. Julie is responsible for hiring, managing, and providing staff with professional development opportunities. She is also the Director of SERRC’s Federal Programs, the Alaska Parent Information and Resource Center (AKPIRC), and the Enhancing Natives Children’s Outcomes through Reading Experiences (ENCORE) program.

 

 

Teri Dierick - Director of Finance and Operations

Teri is a product of Alaska’s educational system. She grew up in Yakutat and became the business manager for the Yakutat School District during her senior year of high school. Teri has worked for SERRC since 2002 and is responsible for the agency’s financial and operational activities, initiating new programs and – along with her staff – providing business/financial services to school districts.
