Family Literacy Programs

 The Learning Connection's Family Programs are located in low-income housing developments and provide:

  • Toddler and pre-school activities for children of parents participating in adult education programs
  • In-school support for elementary school-age children
  • GED preparation and English as a Second Language classes
  • Computer labs
  • Job search assistance
  • Family nights
  • After-school homework clubs staffed by teachers who work with school district personnel to ensure each student's success
  • Summer Explorer program

This program's After-School Homework Club recently received funding from First Bank, Juneau Community Foundation, Hecla Mining Company, Wells Fargo, and the Juneau Community Foundation.

The Learning Connection is a program of SERRC - Alaska's Educational Resource Center
