Education Specialist - Alaska Learning Labs

SERRC – Alaska’s Educational Resource Center, a private, non-profit, education service agency seeks an energetic and innovative full-time Education Specialist to support and facilitate after school programs throughout Alaska. The specialist promotes, implements, monitors and reports all activities related to the after-school programs. This position involves extensive travel to schools in rural Alaskan school districts and requires effective ongoing communication with program sites. The Program Manager supervises the Education Specialist. Applicants with a passion for education and a desire to make a difference will stand out.

B.A. or B.S., Master’s preferred. Alaska Teaching Certificate. Experience planning, implementing, monitoring, and reporting project grants and contracts. Experience as a teacher. Experience developing & implementing curriculum. Experience conducting training. Ability to work with culturally diverse groups. Familiarity with federal & state laws, regulations, and policies related to education programs and grant administration. Ability to coordinate the activities of several employees. Grant writing experience preferred.

Payroll/Human Resource Assistant

SERRC, Alaska’s Educational Resource Center seeks a full time Accounting/HR Assistant.

Duties include but are not limited to: review of monthly time sheets, assist with monthly payroll liability reconciliation and reporting, update and maintain position descriptions, maintain personnel files, assist with accounts payable processing.

Job Qualifications: A high school diploma or equivalent, completion of college level accounting coursework preferred; knowledge of office technology; experience with computer spreadsheet software, EXCEL preferred; demonstrated organizational skills; excellent oral and written communications skills; confirmed capabilities of self motivation and ability to work with confidential information under strict timelines.
