Citizenship

Last year, 118 English language learners from 35 different countries improved their reading, writing, and speaking skills.

The Learning Connection provides FREE English as a Second Language and FREE Citizenship Classes in Juneau and Sitka.

In Juneau, English Language/Civics (beginning preparation for the citizenship exam) classes are offered in three locations.

JUNEAU CLASS LOCATIONS

Downtown:  210 Ferry Way (across from Marine Park)
Gruening Park:  1800 Northwood Drive, Apt. G-49 (in Lemon Creek)
Valley:  on the UAS Campus, Room E113

CITIZENSHIP ONLY CLASSES
Tuesday/Thursday, 5:30-6:30pm (Downtown)

ENGLISH LANGUAGE  AND CIVICS CLASSES
Monday/Wednesday, 5:30-7pm (UAS Campus)
Tuesday/Thursday, 5-6:30pm (Downtown)
Wednesday/Friday, 11:30-1pm (Gruening Park)

BEGINNING ENGLISH 
Wednesday/Friday, 10:30-11:30am (Gruening Park)

ADVANCED ENGLISH
Tuesday, 10:30-11:30am (Downtown)

Students that can't make scheduled classes are encouraged to contact The Learning Connection at (907) 586-5718 or 1-800-478-6660 outside of Juneau. Free individual tutors are available.
