Basics Boot Camp


Hey, 9th – 12th graders! Do you need extra help and practice to upgrade your math, reading and test-taking skills? Do you want to use tools for career exploration and decision-making? Do you want to learn about career, education, and training opportunities through field trips and special speakers? Then Basics Boot Camp is for you!

Emphasis:
Intensive Math and Reading activities
Test-taking strategies and skills
Career exploration and decision-making
Education and training for careers
Getting and keeping a job

Your session is held in Juneau, and you will be staying at the Juneau International Hostel. One teacher/chaperone is required for every five students. Your district begins the enrollment process with an intent form, due November 26, 2008. Teachers who are attending should use the ""Countdown to Sessions"" and "Just for Teachers" links to prepare themselves and their students for the session. Make sure parents read the "Just for Parents" page. Use the “Just for Students” link to learn additional details and access the advance assignments. Basics Boot Camp students complete assignments 3, 10, 11, and 12.
