2012 GOVERNMENT INTERNSHIP SESSIONS
Session 1: February 6-10, 2012
Session 2: February 20-24, 2012
Experience job shadowing with the Legislative, Executive, or Judicial branches of Alaska’s state government. During your week as a government intern, you will attend with Alaska Close Up students, and participate in some of their activities, but most of your time will be spent at your workstation. In addition, you will explore higher education options, learn job-seeking skills, and investigate other career options in your field of interest. Government Interns have previously attended Alaska Close Up, are 11th -12th graders, and are at least 16 years of age.

Student requests for work stations will be processed in order of receipt. Students are encouraged to submit their Student Job Shadowing Registration Form as soon as possible to ensure that they receive their requested work station.
Government Internships are open to Alaska Close-Up alumni who are currently enrolled in an Alaskan school (including home schools). All students must be accompanied by a teacher and/or chaperone. Tuition is $650/student and $450/teacher or chaperone. Tuition covers ground transportation, materials, instruction, field trips, meals and housing during the week-long session. Tuition does not cover travel to and from Juneau.
