2012 CAREER CONNECTIONS SESSIONS

APRIL 9-13, 2012 (LETTERS OF INTENT DUE BY FEBRUARY 10)

APRIL 16-20, 2012 (LETTERS OF INTENT DUE BY FEBRUARY 10)

In this week-long session you will experience the work world first-hand as you job shadow at a real job in a field of your interest.  You will try out your employee skills, and also learn more about how to be a great employee, explore related careers and higher education options, and practice job-seeking skills.  Our curriculum is aligned with Alaska Content Standards,  and the skills and information you learn will be of value as you enter the world of work.

You should be in 11 – 12th grade, at least 16 years of age, and be comfortable working in the adult workplace. You will job shadow for most of three days, and the rest of the time will be spent in classroom discussion, field trips, and speakers who will emphasize Alaska’s high growth industries.
